I find that the magic of vineyards in the Spring provides endless inspiration. In the early Spring it’s the mustard that provide the color – then flowering trees along the vineyard do their thing. Soon the vines are stretching along the trellises and filling up the vineyards with their vigor.
Most artists create vineyard paintings simply because it is a pleasing endeavor that’s a fun challenge when it comes to color and form. I find myself falling in love with the vineyards of my Dry Creek Valley neighborhood. My vineyard paintings not only recreate these scenes but also create new ways in which to see them.
